Ludwig Albert is unmistakably an icon in the international marimba world. With his own marimba competition, worldwide masterclasses and his self-developed ‘eight-mallet grip, he has influenced many young players in an particular way. The instrument Adams made for him is based on the Adams Custom marimba with the ‘Traveler Frame’.

The instrument has a range of C2 – C7 with bars from selected Honduras Rosewood, tuned with the “Adams Alpha tuning method,” the most advanced tuning method for marimbas in the world.

Unique to the Ludwig Albert signature model are the beautifully dark-red stained bars with rounded accidental bars. Built on the Adams Traveler frame with low crossbeam and smooth, large wheels, the instrument has great stability. The beautiful “whitewash” stained rails and end-parts, in combination with the matt gold lacquered resonators, make the instrument a beautiful appearance on every stage.

Internationally highly acclaimed, Ludwig Albert belongs as Belgian leading marimbist with the absolute top-flight and is profiled as one of the most successful marimbists and pedagogues of his generation. After obtaining a First prize Percussion, the Superior Diploma and a Masterdegree specialisation marimba at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Antwerp-Belgium, he was profoundly shaping his musical talent with the Japanese marimba virtuoso Ms.Keiko Abe. Afterwards he performed with her from 1996 several concert tours such as: ‘Keiko Abe plays Keiko Abe’ [1996 Belgium], ‘Ludwig Albert in concert’ [Osaka-Japan 1996], ‘Keiko Abe charity gala concert’ ([996 Japan], Belgium Tour: ‘Dialogue in Nature/ K.Abe & L.Albert in concert’-1997 & 2000, Japan Tour: ‘Dialogue in Nature’-1997.
